Excel and Computer Data Analyst

General Purpose
We are looking for an Excel and Computer Data Analyst! A unique person that is wanting to work in a fast paced environment in the oil and gas industry for a corrosion prevention company. MATCOR is looking for a person that is extremely knowledgeable in Excel and other the computer software applications and programs to work in our Integrity Department. This person will be very organized, detailed oriented, enjoys constructive criticism, self-motivated to learn, works well in a group environments as well as working with little supervision.
This position will work under direct supervision of MATCOR's Pipeline Integrity and information system department Manager. He/she will be involved with the long-term development and enhancement of GIS information technology to meet MATCOR's service objectives; supervises and performs GIS mapping duties; provides expertise, support, assistance and guidance from MATCOR's staff and external contacts; and performs related duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work closely with internal employees to support our clients to identify GIS requirements, technical issues and data representation preferences; analyzes current processes and recommends best practice solutions
Creates maps, survey plots and final reports
Analyzes data and implements it into various formats as requested
Generates maps and graphs for daily data reporting
Uses Pipeline Compliance System, Excel, and Access to organize and parse data for use by engineers and other analysts
Provides general purpose mapping services for other departments
Maintains and updates the GIS system and manages all data in archives
Qualifications
Knowledge of the following:
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a must
Knowledge of computer programing is a plus
GIS concepts and analytical techniques, including computerized mapping and digital data conversion, manipulation and analysis
GIS database administration and management principles, methods and techniques, including data integrity methods and practices
Knowledge of GIS software tools and applications including but not limited to ArcGIS, ArcIMS, ArcSDE, AutoCAD suite is a plus, but not required
Principles and practices of GIS analysis and design is a plus, but not required
Manipulating and handling of data in large quantities efficiently
Knowledge of pipelines and corrosion prevention is a plus but not required
Bachelor's Degree required (Engineering Degree preferred)
